At the Church of Christ at College Park, we want to project the idea of Five Pillars to live by, Grace, Faith, Love, Mercy, and Hope.
The minister of the church is currently a grief counselor and Chaplain at Emory University Hospital, and has been a pastor for over 20 years. Dedicated to serving others, our Minister decided to start this church. His emphasis is on allowing the grace of God to improve the lives of others through the power of forgiveness. Wherever and whoever you are in Atlanta, you are welcome to our congregation.
Mission and Vision Statement
We are the Church of Christ, located in the city of College Park, a suburb of Atlanta Georgia, and we exist to realize God’s mission for all humans on earth, which mission has been mandated to us through Jesus, our Lord. Generally speaking, the “mission” of the Church is for us to “make disciples for Christ out of every creature.” Jesus himself defined this mission when he said:
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age — (Matthew 28:18-20, NIV).
|Specifically, God mission is for all humans to be transformed by the teachings of Christ from the rules and standards of this world to living lives according to will of God. The “vision” of our Church is how we intend to overcome any obstacles prohibiting us from realizing the goal of transforming the world by preaching the Good news of Christ. Therefore, our current vision of said mission entails the use of various media and internet outlets, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Podcasting, etc. to get the message out that Jesus died for our sins, but he rose again from the grave, and will likewise raise up everyone who dies in the Lord.
We want to inform everyone that Jesus is now in the “saving business,” and that Jesus is the answer to the social ills troubling us in this world, and that Jesus wants to save everyone, from that deadful day of Judgement when he comes again, regardless of age, race, gender, social status, or past mistakes. Our vision, therefore, is to promote God’s saving grace to all who will embrace salvation through faith in his commandments, which provides us the promise of the hope of that resurrection after death.
